Deepika Padukone Birthday Special: 5 Times When Dippy Proved She Can Rock Traditional Outfits With Sheer Ease And Grace
Just she nails it with her versatility on-screen, birthday girl Deepika Padukone slays it with her fashion sense off-screen. From events to red carpets, from gowns to sarees, she rocks all these attires like a PRO! On her 36th birthday, here’s at looking at 5 instances when she donned traditional attires with sheer ease and grace. Padukone knows and understands what will make an outfit stand apart from the crowd and chaos.

To begin with, her traditional wedding looks were to die for! Tying the knot with the love of her life, Ranveer Singh in Italy in 2018, she wore elaborate and finely designed numbers for her wedding rituals. She wore a burnt orange Kanjeevaram sari with zari border with elements over it that would represent her state, Karnataka. She wore this saree for the traditional Konkani wedding. While for the Sindhi wedding, she wore a red lehenga designed by ace designer Sabyasachi Mukerji. The Dupatta with the spiritual chants on the border was the highlight of this number.

During her wedding festivities itself, she wore an easy-breezy number, a pale white salwar suit with keyhole like the neckline. This salwar suit has floral print all over it, with full sleeves covering her long arms.

The newly married couple had returned to India, when Deepika wore a cream suit with red silk dupatta designed by Sabyasachi Mukerji. She styled it with heavy traditional jewellery, back then hubby too coordinated with her as he wore a kurta set with a red printed jacket also by the same designer.

Known to experiment and often moving out of her comfort zone, flaunting her long well-tonned pins, she looked gorgeous in a Ritika Mirchandani’s clothing brand’s sharara set. The ivory white sharara set with exquisite embroidery all over it and beads adding up to its, glam factor, she redefined how one can wear sharara without going overboard with accessories.

Saree with its own twist! Deepika Padukone in 2021 graced KBC 13 in a pleated drape saree designed by Payal Khandwala. It has hues of yellow, blue, pink and green with pop print despite which it looked soothing and refreshing to the eyes. She paired it with a yellow sleeveless high neck piece blouse in georgette. To add the glam factor to it she added jewellery in the blue and green shades.
